Why This Alabama Town Deserves More Attention

A community of just 844 residents, Magnolia Springs, is often forgotten, lying between larger tourist towns like Fairhope and Gulf Shores. However, the magic of this small town is undeniable. Upon arrival, travelers are greeted by moss-draped oak trees, Victorian architecture, freshly caught seafood, and some of the best southern hospitality the state has to offer. Its proximity to wildlife refuges, reserves, and parks also makes it a popular starting point for outdoor activities. If Magnolia Springs is not yet on your radar, it should be in the upcoming year.

The Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast is undoubtedly one of the town’s most beloved attractions. Originally built in 1897, the property has served as both a hotel and private residence over the decades. In 1996, David Worthington acquired the home, updated it with more modern amenities, and converted it into the bed and breakfast that it is today. David Worthington and Eric Bigelow, the dedicated innkeepers, are at the heart of the inn's welcoming atmosphere. In addition to renovating and restoring the property, their southern hospitality makes them a favorite among visitors.

Each of the inn's five rooms is uniquely decorated while still sharing a warm and cozy ambiance. Guests can enjoy a delicious three-course breakfast each morning, which is included in their stay, with dishes like fresh fruit, egg casseroles, French toast, and hashbrown casseroles. Additional amenities include inviting common areas for mingling or relaxing, a 24/7 Keurig machine, high-thread-count linens, and thoughtful touches like fans and white noise machines to ensure a good night’s sleep.
